Has anybody played at the poker rooms in St. Louis? Can somebody give a review?

I've played at Ameristar and maybe one of the others. Nothing special. If I remember correctly, the rake was capped at $4 at Ameristar, plus the $1 BBJ drop, so its almost impossible to beat the lower limits (but maybe I'm not remembering the rake correctly).

I liked Harrah's bettr than the Ameristar. Harrah's had 3-6,6-12 and a NL with $2&5 blinds. the wait for limit poker was similar to the half-life of Carbon 14.

I played the NL on a must move table and it was pretty good.

How bad is the rake at Harrah's?

I looked on Harrah's website and they said they had weekly tournaments. Have you seen any of these and are they any good?

Harrah's has $50 buyin tourneys. 50 player max Mon-Wed at 3 CDT. A friend got knocked out of a tourney by an UTG player with J4s. So I would guess they are pretty good tourneys.

I play at the Casino Queen because of my proximity to downtown. The wait to get on the limit tables is usually pretty short and you can generally get a no limit game (as long you're not planning on getting there at 7pm on Friday night).

$50+5 Sit-N-Go are available every day and start when the table fills up.

How many places do the sit n go's pay? Are they winner take all or play 3 places like online?

Its 4$ per hand, and Harrahs is far better room then any of the others in town, and its not even close.

Harrah's is better if you like being crammed into a tin can. Ameristar is a significantly nicer facility with much more room and more variety of games.
