Ottawa Poker
This post is mainly geared towards ndividuals who happen to live in the greater Ottawa area, here in Canada, Ontario. Our casino here (FOR SOME stupid reason) does not have poker, at all. Besides from the home games 2-3 times a month, i was wondering where i could go and play some poker in a casino?
Thank you |

Re: Ottawa Poker
Hey, good to see someone this part of Ontario on the board...no poker in Ottawa, Gatineau or Montreal because the Ontario government ignores this part of the province but has poker everywhere else. Closest Ontario casino is Thousand Islands and they don't have poker, however, I spoke with someone there a couple weeks ago and they are looking at putting a few tables in this fall. I believe it is one of the only Casinos in Ontario without poker. The Gatineau Casino doesn't have poker because is doesn't make them enough money, none of the Quebec Casinos do, for that very reason. They are ignoring the poker explosion going on right now and missing on lots of extra Casino traffic. I haven't been to the place in well over a year because of their refusal to spread poker. It would be nice if a couple hundred people could make their feelings know to the Gatineau Casino...

Re: Ottawa Poker
I finally got my rant out and forgot to answer your question - Turning Stone, Port Perry and Rama are probably your best bets for Casino poker. Or do what I do and go to Vegas twice a year and play poker for 10 hrs a day...

Re: Ottawa Poker
Thanks for your reply, and it's good to know that there is someone else on this site who is an Ontarioan. What idiots these casions are. I'm sure if i went to the Gatineau casino casion, i'd play something else other than just poker. I can't go to Vegas for another 3 months, until i hit 21
Where are those places you suggested? I'll go and check them out as soon as possible. These home games are getting far too easy for me. Don't get me wrong, i love taking their money, but i need a challenge. |

Re: Ottawa Poker
Turning Stone is outside Syracuse NY. Rama is outside Orillia Ont. and the one in Port Perry is called the Great Blue Heron Casino. They all have websites so check them out and good luck. My recommendation is to get fake ID and go to Vegas in June for WSOP like many of us are doing...

Re: Ottawa Poker
I won a seat for the WSOP online at FTP... i'm just too scared to go with a fake I.D and get arrested or something, because i'm not 21 and won it online, checking a checkbox aggreeing that i'm 21...
Thx for the directions... i'll check out Rama this weekend |

Re: Ottawa Poker
Happy to take your seat if they will let you transfer it....there are a couple of us who occasionally go to play either at Blue Heron or TS. Will let you know when we go next if you're interested.

Re: Ottawa Poker
Actually I'm from Calgary, just figured that Montreal maybe had some casinos that spread poker. That sucks for you guys. I guess the only casinos in Ontario that spread poker are in Niagra and Casinorama?

Re: Ottawa Poker
Definatly, i'll go sometime. I most likely will be going to Rama this weekend alone, or with my GF just so she can think we're going on a "trip".
And as for the transferable seat, i doubt it is. Because i'm looking around FTP, and all that i can transfer is $. |
