Default Gambling Age

I just turned 20 yesterday... and got to thinking... is there a national standard of 21 to be able to play in casinos and the like, or is it state specific?

If the latter... then where can you play at 20?

If you're in northern Illinois, the Rockford Charitable cames are 18+.

Gambling is generally covered by state law, I believe.

Tennessee doesn't have any casinos yet because we just the lotto/gambling bill a year ago, but kentucky casinos that don't sell alcohol are 18+. Some online casinos requrie that you be 21 or older, why? I don't know. Maybe it's a national thing.

This might help: http://rose.casinocitytimes.com/articles/966.html

They're offshore. It's not a national thing.

It's state dependant...all casinos in MN are 18+, while WI (and many other states) they're all 21+.

Not true, Grand Casino in Hinkley here in MN has a "bar" pretty much on the floor. Its all state dependent, as far as I know.

I asked someone who works at the Coushatta Casino and 21 is the minimum age to gamble at the Indian Casinos in Louisiana.
