Default 55 in SB on bubble

Is this a fold because pushing is -$EV(due to the short stack being all-in on the next hand), but in terms of chips it is +EV? Any comments are appreciated.

I see the argument for folding, but you should remember that the BB knows that UTG is on his way out as well, and may not want to give you half his chips at this point.

Also, you're not THAT far ahead of UTG. If he doubles up on his BB, and steals on the next hand, you're the new shortee on the block.

weak-tight me folds.

im not interested in losing a coin flip to AQ. if the small stack doubles up next hand, you still have enough left to offer folding equity with your push for a few more hands.

i wait a hand to see if small stack busts. could very well be a leak in my game tho. interested in other replies.

pocket 9s i push. pocket 8s, maybe. i think 7s and down are a fold for me.

I think the BB is going to be playing pretty tight so I push here a good portion of the time. If the short stack was the BB I would fold.

Why would you call half your stack with a hand like J6 here when you know the SB won't push without a decent hand? I think you might overvalue your image as someone the other players can't push over.

You might want to reevaluate your calling standards.

Which is why you are stuck at the $11s.

So what was the consensus on 55 on the bubble?

I am relatively new and trying to make a profit on the SNG so I would welcome more discussion from the experts on this.

Folding:

Folding 55 in a four handed game without tons of chips just seems wrong to me. Reasons... short handed game, you have the best hand, preserve your stack, well hopefully.

PUSH

Unless the Big stack is prone to playing all sorts of hands this seems like the right move. PUSH if you want to win this. Fold if you want to fight for third.

This is almost an auto-push for me. Certain big stacks and certain tables with strange behaviors would make me play otherwise but 80% of the time I am in there with all of my chips.

*note* I have not run a statistical analysis but it seems like when I lose on the bubble it is when I push small pair into big pair. But big pairs are rare so I still think it is a good move. Better to die in battle than to have the blinds suck you down, I think.
