Default Treasure Island MN - WSOP satellite

Anyone playing in this?
The blind structure looks crazy fast, but at least you get a big stack to start. But I don't play many tourneys so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I've never played anything but ring games at B&M but I'm thinking of giving this one a whirl.

From what I've heard, they take 10-100 person tournaments and take the top 10 of each of those tournaments. Then they have one 100 person tournament and first gets a seat. I personally don't think that is worth $150, but maybe my information is misconstrued. That's just what I heard at Canterbury last night.

Close but not quite -
5 100-person tournaments, top 20 from each go to a final tourney.
The final pays $1250 for 10th, 1st gets $12k cash, plus a WSOP seat, plus hotel/air. (Hotel and air does not come from the prize pool.)

They start you with 5k in chips and 25-50 blinds, which is nice. But levels are only 20 minutes. After an hour you're already at 200-400 with a 25 ante.

Me too! 10AM is a little too early if I have a choice. Rainy days and Mondays get me down. And CP has a tourney on Wednesday.

Top 20 out of 100 should be a cakewalk.

Are they going to open a poker room, or is this just a one-time thing?

I would be in this in a second, but I'll be in Vegas that week ... Guess I'll have to make uo for it by drinking to my hearts content and hanging out with the fishes at IP.

P.S. Why would Treasure Island hold this event when they dont even have poker (to my knowledge)? And why hasn't Canterbury had a WSOP qualifier? I would expect them to have one.

I have no idea why they're doing this...they're even training their dealers just for this one-time event. As of now, they aren't able to have poker there.

If only I was good at NL.
If we make it that far, you'll have to tell me what you look like so I can stay out of your way.

As far as I know it's a one-time thing. Hopefully they'll know what they're doing. If the dealers are clueless we'll be lucky to get 5-7 hands per round.
