Default Blind steal theory

Hi,

Is there some good blind steal theory out there.

For example:

I have KJ on the button and raise first in.
SB folds and BB reraise.
I call and BB bet into me on the flop.

If I did not hit the flop should I fold?
If I hit say the J but there is also an A on board, should I go to showdown?

This is just an example and I'm not really need an answer to this specific hand but what to do or how I should reson when these kind of situations occur.

I don't find it hard to choose hands to attempt a steal with. It's what to do when Im played back and not hitting a strong hand.

Similar goes for blind defence.

Im not looking for mechanical rules but I have a hard time knowing what to do.

Following card odds rarely seem to apply if there is no reraises preflop.

I'm at a loss on this matter and are looking for strategys and/or guidelines for blind stealing as well as protecting the blind form possible steals.

Advice would be appriciated.

if the flop comes AJx you need to go to the showdown cheaply.

if the flop doesnt hit you, but gives you backdoor draws or overcards, you need to take one off. if it comes down A32 then you can fold.

folding on the flop for 1 bet after a person 3bets you out of position is way too weak and is easily exploitable.

Maybe I'm too aggressive (naive or inexperienced), but can raising first in on the button w/ KJo be considered a "blind steal". You likely have the best hand.

I'd consider this a raise for value.

In response to the question, the three bet by the BB could either mean a good hand, or that she thinks you were trying to steal the blinds.

I would only fold to this bet with a very coordianted board (ex. 456 of hearts, and not holding a heart).

I am also interested in what more experienced people have to say.
