Default Runner-runner flush.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, 2 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls.

I have two overs so I call as well as a backdoor flush draw.

Turn: (5 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

Pick up my flush draw, and have two overs.

SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls.

River: (9 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, BB raises, UTG+2 folds, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, BB calls.

Is this a bad 3-bet on my part? I don't remember any reads i had at the time i played this hand a few days ago.

Final Pot: 18 BB

Looks ok. I might raise preflop.

I'm raising this preflop, no problem with the river 3-bet.

How? KTs is worth a limp from any position in loose passive Party .5/1 games. When you get to MP3 you can argue for raising, but there's no reason to fold this.

That's bad advice where he's at. Limping isn't a particular error, it just makes the rest of the hand a lot easier to deal with. BB isn't folding here, and the SB isn't likely to fold. Limiting the field when it's already this big just doesn't happen.

Limping is fine.

Folks, not everything in this world is raise or fold.

Folding KTs here preflop is terrible. Limping is ok. Raising is the best choice, but whatever.

Raise it preflop and hands like these are easier to play (and more profitable, of course).

I like it, the 3-bet is fine. A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] might happen, but thats poker.

Default Isn\'t it a Drawing hand?

I think a raise preflop here is a little out of line. It's borderline, certainly not automatic like you are making it out to be. Your goal should be to encourage the CO, Button, and Blinds to enter this pot as well. Raising might limit it to just you and the EP guys which isn't all bad but certainly diminishes your odds to win and the amount you can take off of 2nd best hands, depending on what hands these individuals will limp with in EP.

You also have to factor in the aggressiveness of the 4 players left to act. A raise on their part could mean a lot of your winning hands are trumped. With no reads, a raise doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

It's just not as automatic as you have made it to be.
