Default I play passive good.

I was planning on raising any safe card on the turn...and then that plan went to hell. Better line anyone?

The small blind is a maniac and the reason I am in the game. His bet into a large field on a capped preflop means he has something though.

Whats wrong with still raising the turn, the SB, a maniac bet again, so he doesnt have to have a 7. The callers didn't raise so there unlikely to have a 7, and the guy who 3-bet you preflop is also unlikely to have one. So i say you have the best hand and should still raise the turn.

I started at this one for a while. The pots big, you cant really protect your hand and the board is scary. What else can you do besides call it down.

Raising the turn isn't going to get rid of anyone.

I'd be more concerned about some type of 2 pair than a 7 given the turn action, but I'd still raise the turn.

Assuming that none of these 4 players has a 7 AA is a slight favorite against some drawing hands and another pocket pair. With the PF action, we have to assume someone has a hand.

pokenum -h ac ah - kc 8c - qc qh - jh td - qd jc -- 6c 9c 8h 5s
Holdem Hi: 38 enumerated boards containing 5s 9c 6c 8h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Ac Ah 21 55.26 17 44.74 0 0.00 0.553
Kc 8c 11 28.95 27 71.05 0 0.00 0.289
Qc Qh 0 0.00 38 100.00 0 0.00 0.000
Td Jh 4 10.53 34 89.47 0 0.00 0.105
Jc Qd 2 5.26 36 94.74 0 0.00 0.053

Change one of those drawing hands to 2 pair your AA is down to 18%
or a weakly played set - %5
If the '7' is out, your drawing dead.

So in the best case scenario your only slightly ahead why would you raise this turn. Even if I throw some random garbage hands in there to accout for the SB's idoitcy, your still only a slight favorite.

For poops and giggles I changed the QQ to Q4o and AA droped to a 52% favorite

If you can't raise getting 2:1 or more on a 1:1 bet when can you?

dammit! I hate being wrong. Another thing I didn't consider is the SB 3 betting, which would be good if it cut the field down.

Why not raise the flop? All sorts of hands might 3bet and you can put a ton of money in with huge equity.
