Default A Little Preflop Excercise

the J9s thread inspired this. if anyone's interested, I thought up a little excersize to open peoples' eyes to late position raising.

try playing a session without limping. well, you're allowed to limp with 55-22 and you're allowed to complete from the SB and check from the BB. cold calling is allowed too. other than that, no preflop limping allowed.

then post a list of the situations where you raised but wanted to call, or the situations where not being able to call made you fold. ask for some feedbakc. you'll be surprised how many of those hands should be raised

Beat it, noob.

(Actually this is an intriguing idea and I think I'm going to give it shot my next session.)

Boy. This is usually how I play, with a few exceptions. I like the idea though.

I already imagine the perception will be that I am playing outlandishly, but in reality my pfr% will go from 8 to 12. Thanks, good post.

this is almost how i always play. i don't really see how much different this could be from the majority of us.

i've been limping some more marginal hands in some spots. but overall, this wont' really change how i play much at all honestly. like everybody says, this is how most of us play anyways.

though i suspect if you did do this, your bb/100 would go down a little, but your variance would be much lower too because you wont' be playing a lot of the drawing hands, like suited connectors and aces like JTs, 87s and A4s and stuff like that. and since you're allowing us to limp in with 55-22, this becomes a little too easy of an excersize imo.
