To be honest this was news to me until I went up to Trump (and Harrah's-which was a HUGE mistake unrelated to these revelations).

I;m pretty sure this is due to the fact that Harrah's corportation (whatever it's actual name is) own the Horseshoe casinos in both loacalities-and this is forbedden due to some gaming law I'm unaware of.

Harrah's operated two casinos under the "Harrah's" name in Tunica for quite a while.

They probably dumped the Tunica Harrah's because it's in a crappy location. It's a LOT further from Memphis than either the Horseshoe or the Grand (which they got in the Caesar's buyout).

Harrah's sold East Chicago to clear the way to buy out Caesar's Resorts. Caesar's owns a casino in southern Indiana, and with Harrah's EC and the Horseshoe Hammond, that's more than Indiana allows. So, Harrah's sold the EC boat to Resorts International, owners of the LV Hilton.

the changeover to Colony Capital (dba Resorts International) was initiated on April 24th. their roster is now as follows:

Las Vegas Hilton
Resorts Atlantic City
Atlantic City Hilton
Harrah's Tunica
Bally's Tunica
Harrah's East Chicago
Accor Casinos (Europe)

the two Harrah's properties will be rebranded as Resorts International. not sure what they're going to do with Bally's Tunica (though demolishing it wouldn't be the worst idea).

Harrah's Tunica closed it's doors today per a memo posted at Horseshoe.

Default YIPPEE..HARRAH\'S GONE !

Too bad the stench from those mercenary jerks, who operate Harrah's Entertainment, will still stink, at Horseshoe Hammond. Harrah's, which also has a joint in Joliet Illinois, is playing a game with the stupidity of the public. The game is called: "How high a price, can we charge the dopes, and watch them, still patronize our buffets." Harrah's Entertainment SUCKS.

I will be going to Vegas DURING the WSOP, but I won't be spending a dime, with Harrah's.

That's a style of writing, known as "thirty-years ago", summa cum laude-itis". Anyway, Harrah's, you know, IT SUCKS!
