Default What seperates a 100/200 player to a 1k/2k player?

What seperates a 100/200 player to a 1k/2k player? What is a 1k/2k player doing differently than a 100/200 player...and wat about a 30/60 player compared to a 100/200 player...Aside from bankroll

are you guys really going to say that there are no differences in skill level between these 2 players? the games are obviously harder at this level, in which you have the famous players playing. are you really saying that playing at a table filled with phil iveys is the same as playing at a table with phil hellmuths?

id say the differences between the 2 levels is tilt resistance and making less human error. there is also more sophisticated psychology, and a better understading of game theory. in a 1k/2k game, mistakes are magnified 10 times, so if you are the type to lose .2BB/100 on human error, while phil ivey is only going to lose .03BB/100 on human error, you will of course getting eaten alive long term.

Probably lots of things but I think especially the 1K/2K players can probably play all games well and play shorthanded, heads-up, and at a full table. Up that high they're usually mixed games where as a 100/200 player might be a specialist in one type of game.

JV or JASucker posted about this shortly once...

the ability to remain tilt free is absolutely essential and even pros who tilt end up making the game good.

in terms of skill & understanding, both sets of good players (assuming winning players) have a deep understanding of the game...

however at the higher limit, there's probably a need for more psychology and at the end, game theory.

proper use of those will likely add significant amounts to your win rate at those limits.

Moving from 30/60 to higher limits:

You must be able to play very well in heads up and shorthanded situations. No more multiway pot fun.

Where exactly are 1000/2000 games played? I have never seen such a limit

Usually at the Bellagio, but the pros will start such high-limit games when they all go to a big tournament on the road.
