Default Good move or bad one?

My logic in betting this amount was to try to disuade anyone on a flush draw from getting proper odds to call. It looks like I folded in the right spot, what do you guys think?

I'd say the biggest mistake you made in this hand was being in the pot at all. It's not a huge mistake, by any means, but when you're out of position with this hand, you might lose a lot of chips. I'd muck preflop.

With AKs you come into the pot with a raise.

This may sound silly but I have been reading a few other posts you have made an you give pretty indepth reasons for betting and position. Did you mostly get this (obviously you did your own thinking on it as well) from Tournament Poker book by Sklansky?

Thanks

No, I got my position raising/calling/reraising standards mostly from doing my own research using pokerstove. I ran monte carlo simulations with almost every hand from every position. Using average pot equity advantages, I have about 10 hand ranges that slide according to seat, previous player action, and blind/stack sizes.

But Sklansky's book taught me variables to consider when constructing these standards.

That is incredible that you were able to go that indepth with it. How long did that take you?

I honestly don't know. It's been, and is, a work in progress over the past 18 months.
