Sklansky ranks AJs higher than AQo?
Sklansky Hold'em Hand Groupings:
Group 1: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AKs Group2: TT, AQs, AJs, KQs, AK Group3: 99, JTs, QJs, KJs, ATs, AQ And AQo barely made group 3 since it's listed last in that group? Can someone explain why he think KQs is better than AQo? I've been mucking KQs from middle position, but limping with AQo. Have I been playing WRONG all this time?! Mucking KQs in MP for no raise? Some of you people are really terrible at poker, I'm sorry to say.

Aren't his hand rankings for limit games? I think he even says in the book I have that significant adjustments would have to be made to the rankings for pot limit and no limit. I've never seen a ranking for no-limit.

I muck KQs and a lot of the time AQo as well, I also much AJs without a thought. You really could be playing too loose in level 1 and 2. I know I can play these hands profitably and I know exactly what I'm giving up when I fold them but I do it anyways because it's not worth the small profit they yield. |
