Default JJ w/ overcards

I'm looking for analysis/advice on the flop (not the preflop play in this case). 7-handed 15/30 B&M game, just started, no info on the players.

I call with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG.
LP calls, button raises, SB calls, BB calls, I call.

Flop is K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
SB checks, BB checks, I check, LP checks, Button bets, SB folds, BB folds.

What to do?

Fold. You're out of position with no draws and can't beat second pair, so you'll never find yourself in a good spot to get aggressive and simply calling down here can't be profitable.
BTW, I know you said not to comment on the preflop play, but this hand exemplifies all the reasons to raise JJ first in preflop. In fact, I'd be raising down to around 77 or 66 UTG in a 7 handed game.

Yeah, I agree with you on all counts.

(I was actually the button in this hand, but wanted to get in the mind of the JJ holder for didactic purposes.)

Does anyone think it's not an easy fold?

I know you're not looking for advice on the pf play, but can you explain to this noob why you didn't 3bet?

Thanks,

Craig

I really dislike both preflop decisions.

Well yes, the UTG made a pretty big mistake by not raising PF, and another mistake by calling on the fop. Most random unknowns don't play very well, so i don't know why you'd be asking if your opponenent played poorly. he's probably a bad player. Did he then hit his set on the turn and beat you?

This is why cleverly pretending in your post to be the guy who played like an idiot isn't really so clever; people will keep telling you how you played like an idiot.
