Default Did David Sklansky win his seat at the WPT Championship?

When he won the "Poker by the Book" segment?

That'd be my guess.

Hopefully this will convince him to play more of these. If he does make it to the final table of any of these, that would be a goldmine for book sales.

Talk to him Mason.

I believe (but am not positive) that the $25k entry to the WPT championship was the ONLY prize they were playing for in that "Poker by the book" event.

Sklansky has also played in the Heads-up championship (to be shown on NBC in May) and the PSI II on Fox Sports Net so is OBVIOUSLY more tournament active these days.

Although these are made-for-TV invite-only events (except for the WPT championship...which he got a seat to VIA an invite-only TV event) and I assume David can't turn down the EV involved with "free money is you win....doesn't cost you anything if you lose."

Wouldn't mind seeing him try his hand at a couple of WSOP events though now that he seems to be more into the tourney swing-of-things again.

Not sure that the WSOP main-event with 6000 players or whatever is going to be terribly appealing to him though.

Title: David Sklansky Doubles Up Through Keith Carter
Log: Keith Carter raised, and David Sklansky moved all in. Carter paused for a few moments before calling the bet. Carter showed A-J, while Sklansky showed A-K. The flop hit both players after it came K-J-7, meaning Carter needed another J to eliminate Sklansky. A K hit on the turn, and Sklansky doubled through Carter to $275,000.

Title: David Sklansky Doubles Up Through John Smith
Log: Phil Ivey raised to $35,000, and John Smith re-raised to $135,000. David Sklansky looked down at his hand and moved in for $277,000. Ivey folded, but Smith called and showed A-K. Sklansky turned over A-A and was well on his way to doubling up. The board provided no help as it came 8-4-3-4-6, and Sklansky doubled through Smith to $585,000.

When DS moves all-in, you should assume he has AA under there.

FWIW, DS cashed in the 2004 WSOP main event.
