I am jealous of Barry Greenstein because he was able to play in a high limit game where there are no fish and so he did not have to deal with the kind of players that I have to deal with. If I could have played in that game right off the bat, then I would be a great player too.

I hate having to swim with the fish. Life is not fair.

Some day, when I win a jackpot, I'll be able to go play in one of the "big" games and I'll be able to show them how a real player plays this game.

It is the money that holds me back.

I hate this game.

kinda what jason said, if this is mocking, it is brilliant

but if this is serious, it sounds like you are one of those guys who hate playing against fish because they all play sht cards and get lucky

in reality people who can't beat fish are not good poker players

It is a thought I had when I first started playing poker and watching the poker TV shows. While I don't think like this anymore, I remembered the thought today and posted as an admission to having had those thoughts so that I could leave them in the past.

It was... I think this might have been what has driving me to push into higher limit games, rather than take the time to work my way up. While writing it out, I also realized that it was blocking me from playing on the internet: I couldn't play in the limit game equivalent to what I play in the B&M and I was too impatient to work my way up in the micros. I was trying to jump the tech tree, rather than rounding out all aspects before taking the next step.

Well, I think I have a much better understanding now. Especially when you consider that in a high limit game, you want there to be some fish and you're much better off learning how to deal with them at the cheaper prices (aka micros) because they will add quite a bit of variance due to strategy changes needed when they are there.

We'll see how it goes if I start playing again next week.
