SB junk hand
Ultimate Bet 2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) converter
CO is 30/0 and can fold post-flop sometimes, BB is 70/2 and loves to see the river. I've seen both for only about 40 hands, though. Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks. Too marginal to complete? I don't fear a raise and will likely get paid off with a flush or other lucky catch. Flop: (3 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, CO checks. I'm quite ready to fold this flop. Turn: (1.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB folds, CO calls. I have the ten, bad kicker plus I picked up the flush draw and no one is showing strength. River: (3.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero? |

Re: SB junk hand
Preflop: Fold
Flop: ??? If you're ready to fold this, what kind of flop were you looking for? (besides hearts) Bet the flop, then reevaluate. Bet the river. Neither of your opponents showed any aggression. Bet your damn hand. |

Re: SB junk hand
I'm ready to fold because these guys are passive and the flop texture here sucks (flush draw, could already be behind to a FH, etc). Give me hearts, T22 rainbow, etc instead and I would like my hand a little better.
On the river I figure there's a good chance I'm ahead, but wonder if I am ahead enough when I get called to make it a profitable bet.. |

Re: SB junk hand
Dude, don't bother checking the flop, just fold it. You could already be behind quads.

Re: SB junk hand
You have to like these kinds of flops if you wanna play this hand.
Bet it, you are ahead often enough. |

Re: SB junk hand
I realize you're being sarcastic, but even these passive guys would likely raise preflop with JJ. JT they would easily just call with and then probably be "tricky" with it. Point taken on betting the flop, however, though I still think I am probably behind if either of these guys bet the flop.
What about the river though? Am I ahead more than 50% when called? |

Re: SB junk hand
Unless you're planning on check/folding the river, does it matter?

Re: SB junk hand
Seriously, this is an ugly hand. T5s is a crap hand that should be folded preflop. Since you didn't not betting a good flop for you is inexcusable. If these guys are as passive as you say, they are going to call you down anyway and you can't give them infinite odds to hit an A/K/Q. Also, since it seems that these guys are pretty weak you'll know if they bet out or raise you're in trouble. So waht are you worried about? It's an easy hand to play because you don't have to spend time guessing what they have. Finally, being afraid because someone "might" have JT and have flopped a boat to play tricky is. . .well. . .I don't think words have been invented for this kind of Nancy-ness.
