Default partypoker not rigged...BUT

I don't think partypoker is rigged but I do believe that they do not have a good random generator for the cards. For example, ultimatebet has its random number generator tied to a physical device which allows it to obtain truly random numbers . Many sites are using psuedo-random algorithms and then trying to make the shuffle algorithm make up for the lack of true randomness.

I have logged many thousands (50k+ easy) of hands at partypoker alone and have logged a large number at other sites. From all the sites I have visited, ultimatebet seems to have truly random hands.

I am not trying to boost ultimatebet but just making an observation.

My day job is as a computer scientist and I would wager that there is a statistical difference between a few sites. I think this is a limitation of the software and not partypoker or others trying to rig the game.

I only mention this because of the threads concerning "poker is rigged online". I don't think online poker is rigged.

cheers

What cards would you hypothesize turn up more than others?

Are you confused that every time you play ace-rag for a raise then get bet into when an ace flops someone has a bigger ace?

I do.

Question for the OP: So what in the Party hand histories tipped you off that they were less random than UB?

Since a shuffled deck isn't truly random isn't Party doing a better job of recreating live poker than UltimateBet?

UB IS RIGGED TO BE TOO RANDOM!

Easy to heckle from the bleachers but then again that is favorite tactic of the clueless. Let me break this down in small pieces for you. Do you know how many different hands there are in a poker deck? Do you know how to calculate that? Probably not but I will explain it.

There are 8x10^67 which is derived from 52x51x50..etc.

Now follow slowly, and think about this..ok. What if the algorithm would only allow for a seed value to emulate only a fraction of the hands? Now we are talking but I doubt that you understand how a pseudo-random number generator works and I also wager you do not understand what an algorithm is, heck if someone told you that an exponential algorithm was good, you would believe it.

I completely disagree that party's cards are 'less' random but I completely agree tha UB's cards are 'more' random.

Thank you for an insightful post.
