Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
Last night I saw, on ESPN 2, some show where contestants were competing to be a caddy for a famous golfer. Their competition constited of getting dealt two hold cards, and then having to grab a community of cards off of a bulls back. Yes you read that right, so I'm going to say that's the worst ever.

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
Even though I'm from Massachusetts, I've gotta go with the Boston vs. NY Challenge, because of that doofus they selected for "our" team that says "Mashed Potatoes, it's kinda..........a joke"

PSI II. The pros should know better than to allow themselves to be associated with that junk.

"Poker Royale: Battle of the Sexes" should have been one of the shows you could vote on.

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
ps2 is the worst by far.
i'd rather watch 10 hours of bravo's show with the cast of friends (hate them all), than watch any more of that dreck. |

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
I think we need a second poll for "serious" televised events such as PSI, WPT, WSOP, UPC, since the celebrity poker shows are on another level of [censored].
But for worst overall show, I haven't seen it, but I am betting Nascar Celebrity Poker is the worst. It combines two of the worst things on TV, Nascar and celebrity poker. |

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
Yeah....I saw a couple of the PSI II episodes yesterday (including Sklansky's 2nd win).
I have no idea what the blind-structure is for it and wasn't really paying that much attention...but it must be insanely fast because it just looks like a ridiculous all-in fest. The commercial I saw for the one on the Speed Channel looks REALLY awful. from what little I've seen, I think Bravo's Celebrity Poker show is a bit better than E's Hollywood game. |

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
I'm telling you guys, the Boston vs. NY Challenge is TERRIBLE. They found the biggest mooks to be "characters" and it's like watching MTV's TRL (from my youth anyway) where they'd make everyone say these cheesy lines instead of saying something they actually meant.
It's like watching Bob Sagett deliver all his terrible jokes on Americas Funniest Home Videos, just wrist-slitting drudge. The "mashed potatoes" is what stands out most, but they'll also show some doofus bragging about a bridge or clam chowda' or something from their city. |

Re: POLL-Worst Televised Poker Event?
None of the above - my vote goes to the NASCAR game. It has the same bad play that characterizes all celebrity poker shows, but the forced all-in "sudden death" feature when it gets heads up takes the show to a whole new level of absurdity.
