50+5 Level One....Lay Down This Straight?
I'm such a whimp when it comes to playing poker. I'm just here to blind steal and suckout!!!
Other than the betting patterns I have no reads. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (9 handed) converter UTG (t535) UTG+1 (t1480) MP1 (t935) MP2 (t2420) MP3 (t955) CO (t975) Button (t975) SB (t725) Hero (t1000) Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP1 calls t15, 4 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (t45) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks. Turn: (t45) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets t15, SB calls t15, Hero raises to t75, MP1 calls t60, SB calls t60. River: (t270) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets t150, MP1 raises to t300, SB raises to t635 (All-In), Hero ??? |

Re: 50+5 Level One....Lay Down This Straight?
I think one of them beats you. Not KK, but 77, 99, T9. This is assuming they are somewhat solid. I can't imagine SB going all-in on a re-raised pot without beating your straight here.
At 11$ I would probably call and win my fair share of times. |

I'm hoping I can lay that down if I ever get to the 50s, so yes, fold =\

Everybody just hangs around when you bet the turn, but then everybody comes to life when a second ten falls. Maybe MP1 just has trips, but SB almost certainly has the goods.
I fold. GG |

Easy, Easy, Fold.
Any boat beats you, and QJ and J8 also beat you. I think I would need QJ with only 1 opponent here to call this. |

Re: 50+5 Level One....Lay Down This Straight?
probably got to drop it on the river
if i'm checkraising this turn though- i'm overbetting the pot by quite a bit. 2 potential 4 flushes on board, bigger straight draws may be hanging, 2 pair would be along for the ride- etc etc.... |

[/ QUOTE ] You stole my thunder, but I will post anyway... Why check the turn? I guess it was so you could check raise, but why only 75? I would have made it 150, there is a flush draw, and someone could be drawing to a higher straight, make them pay to hit there card. If you are called making it 150, then you know you are in trouble. By making it 75, it is a no brain call with just about any draw, 2 pair, flush draw, straight draw, you did not price them out of the hand. |

SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets t15, SB calls t15, Hero raises to t75, MP1 calls t60, SB calls t60. [/ QUOTE ] That's all a lot of interesting action on the turn card. I hate having the ass end of a straight though. Put yourself in the SBs shoes. If you had J8 or say KT in the hole, would you be just calling here? I dunno. FWIW, I always feel better folding when I know someone else is gonna call, and it really looks like MP2 will call. |

Re: 50+5 Level One....Lay Down This Straight?
With two re-raises on this river, there is a possibility someone is holding a better hand. I would have made a much bigger raise on the turn to obtain more information on what everyone was holding. Now that they got a cheap river, I'm afraid one of them has you beat.
