Default Hmmm... (99 hand)

Ultimate Bet 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Feel free to flame away, I really don't know how I did this hand. UTG+1 and UTG+2 are really loose. UTG is unknown.

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero raises, 5 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (10.40 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds.

Turn: (6.20 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

River: (8.20 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 8.20 BB

I think it's okay.

The river might be more interesting than I'm giving it credit for though.

See, this doesn't make sense to me. You don't believe he has an ace at any point during the hand....so when its MORE likley that he doesn't have an ace you check? Unless the player is extremly passive i think its a clear value bet.

What does he call me with that I beat? Am I giving an unknown too much credit? I probably bet if it were UTG+1 or 2 in the hand.

Not necessarily. I was just thinking about the river action.

He'll call you with any pair here. He knows it's less likely you have an ace, and the ace doesn't change the value of either of your hands. Whoever was ahead on the turn is still ahead on the river. If he's calling the turn with his 87, then he's calling the river with it. I'd bet and probably fold to an unlikely checkraise.

An 8. Any pocket pair. Because of what the river card was, i bet for sure. I don't think he has an A, and he won't put you on it either.

An 8, a 5, 66-77. A two pair that he was slowplaying that just got counterfeited.

The only players I would be obliged not to bet this against would be players that I would really not know what to do against when checkraised. Given his play so far I think it's very safe to fold to a checkraise here.
