With no read you cannot fold your overpair. If you are call and are beaten you lose 1 more big bet. If you fold the best hand you lose a whole pot you should have one. And you have to remember this guy has only called and then has an out of the blue check-raise on the river. If you knew this player would never(or extremely rarely) check-raise the river without the nuts then you could fold. But you don't know that. Sometimes you will be against AA, KK or a slowplayed pair, but the could also have top or second pair.

Call and don't think twice about it.
