Another request for advice
In reviewing this if I raise on 4th street I am guessing the winner folds with 2d Qs 8d 5d, but maybe not with 3 to a flush? One of my Kings is dead, and there is an Ace showing with the other 3 not dead. I play more HE, and know how to read the flop and then be appropriately aggressive or not. I think I should have raised on 4th street ... thoughts? and, TIA.

Re: Another request for advice
Since this is one of those huge ante games, it pays to be very aggressive. So yeah, raise on 4th.
Then on 5th I'd be completely lost though, I never played any low limit stud . Also, is it possible seat 7 had (22)8 to start and not (2Q)8? That hand is pretty ugly even for fish I would think. |

Re: Another request for advice
If you think a raise on 4th will knock one or two of your opponents out, you should raise. Personally though, in a game this loose, I’d wait until 5th. It is much more likely that they will fold for two BBs than for two SBs; if they do call two cold on 5th with deuces or something, it is at least much more incorrect for them to do so. And if you choose to get out instead, as I think you should do here, you save one small bet.

Re: Another request for advice
I think you have to raise fourth and hope they fold. Waiting until fifth is OK, too.
I'm not crazy about calling on fifth and sixth, but I don't see any way around it, either. If these were decent players, you would be able to conclude that someone had Js up beaten on sixth, most likely with a set, and you could fold your puny little Kings. You can't draw that kind of inference in a Party fifty cent game, though. I like the guy who bets the river into a crowd with his whole hand on board. |
