This kind of thing seems to happen a lot. Looking for a hand, hit something smaller on the river, what to do... Villain just sat down, no real read but is a good player; table was playing pretty loose though.

How many streets did I misplay?

why'd you overbet the flop? a .75 or 1$ bet would be so much more successful here.

On the river check behind. They were probably calling you with a draw, but anything else they could have most likely has you beat, unless its a 77/88 type hand that probably won't pay you off much right now. If he has a 2 or a 3 it's more likely he's going for a check/raise and there's no way you're getting him off it.

Also, potsize bet on flop is better. I might check behind on the turn.
