Default Did Party raise the rake again?

In december 2004 the average rake at 5/10 6 max was 2.5% according to my stats. They then chancged it in the beginning of 2005 to around 2.0%. This is the level it has been at fore some months now but suddenly from April 12th I again see 2.5% in my stats!

Wtf is going on?! How can a company not inform their customers of such significant changes???

I'd appreciate if others can check their stats to see if this is indeed the case?

The rake is a fixed amount of money taken in increments when the pot reaches a certain amount. For instance, I think at 3/6 $1 is removed when the pot reaches $20. Another 50 cents is removed with every $10 increase from there until the pot reaches $60 at which time the rake has maxed out at $3 for that hand. The "percentage" you are talking about is a function of the pot sizes at the tables at which you have played. It is a result of the players collective actions and the administrators of Party Poker have nothing whatsoever to do with it.

I know how Part rakes the games, I'm just not aware of the particular amounts before and after the dates mentioned in my post. But go to the summary tab in PT and see for yourself (% of Pot).

I'm positive there must have been a change because for each day in the period from Jan 2005 to April 10th 2005 there is very little variation: 2.03 +/- 0.05.

And the same goes for the period preceding this and the days from April 12th and on (didn't play on the 11th, so no stats): 2.50% +/- 0.05.

Hmmmm...this is very unfortunate. I didn't understand why the rake was lowered in the first place, but I embraced it. I would post this in Internet Gambling.

Is that a joke? 0.5BB/100 is huge. We argue all day every day in this forum about decisions worth 0.1BB/100 and nobody dismisses them as unimportant. For proof, see every hand history post.

Edit: Since Mr G was the OP of this thread I guess that post was indeed a joke.
Anyway, Party's rake table looks the same as always to me. Has it really changed?

Guy.
