My first experiance with the \"it\'s rigged monkeys\"
This maniac was catching (literally) what ever he needed to win. He said he was losing really bad and threatened to close his account and now was winning like crazy.
Some OTHER moron at the table claims if you withdraw they punish you for a few days. Oh, and of course you have to play low pairs, win 90% of the time. I was in shock at the insanity of someone playing a rigged game. Oh, I know how to beat it cause I know how it's rigged. This while playing $1NL and steadily feeding my account. I was starting to look for the hidden cameras and thinking about making a tin foil beanie. |

Okay how is it used wrong? In that he was actually catching every card or virtually catching?

Re: My first experiance with the \"it\'s rigged monkeys\"
I appologize. Like I said, I was being an ass. I really don't know why I wrote that. If you must know my reasoning, since one can't be "figuratively catching" every card, it doesn't make sense to say that he is "literally catching" every card. But now that I think it through, it would make sense to say "He was catching every(literally) card" in reference to "every" since people use this word when they over exaggerate that all the time. But like I said, I'm an idiot for even picking this fight.

Re: My first experiance with the \"it\'s rigged monkeys\"
Wouldnt "literally catching" imply that the cards were thrown to him and he caught them?

(enter annoying grammar-boy mode)
Well, the only problem with the phrasing of your sentence is that you said "catching (literally) every card," which would imply he's standing there with a baseball mitt and having them thrown to him. "Catching every card (literally)" better conveys what you're trying to say--that there wasn't one hand that went by where he didn't suck out. (exit annoying grammar-boy mode) |

Re: My first experiance with the \"it\'s rigged monkeys\"
"Literally" catching every card would be if people were throwing cards at him, and he was physically catching them....
He was "catching" them un literally, since catching in poker lingo means he was being dealt certaing cards... nothing to do w/ the literal definition of catching... |

Re: My first experiance with the \"it\'s rigged monkeys\"
When he said "catching (literally) every card" it seemed pretty clear to me that the "literally" modified "every" and not "catching." But if you're a grammar nazi I guess you look for any opportunity to open fire.
