Omaha/8 low hands

I can't seem to find details on determining low hands for Omaha/8. I ran into this in a home game where my 7-5 low lost to a 6-4-5-3-2. Is it safe to say that lows are not subject to being straights and flushes? I realize that the wheel is commonly the low nuts, but is that true in 8 or better? Seems like a simple question but my local and google searches did not produce an answer for me.

The wheel is not always the low nuts, but it is the best possible low. Here was the first link I found on google about reading the board (you might want to review the high section too, just in case).

The low is the five lowest cards, not the best "hand" under 8. Straights, flushes, etc... are irrelevant. There are no pairs allowed in the low hand.

So a hand of 2,3,4,5,7 beats A,2,3,4,8. A hand of A,2,3,4,5 is the nut low. 4,5,6,7,8 would be the worst possible qualifying low hand.

To figure out the best low between 2 hands, just organize the lows from high-to-low and the lowest number wins.

Example:

A) A-2-3-6-7 -> 76321
B) A-2-4-5-7 -> 75421

Hand B wins.

I'm sorry but Hand "A" would win with the 3 playing. For instance, if the board showed A, 5, 7 or A, 5, 6, the nut low would be 2,3 in your hand.

Nope, hand B wins. If the board shows A27, player A has 36 in his hand, player B has 45 in his hand. B wins.

If the board showed A57 the nut low would indeed be 23, but then Player A and B couldn't be in the same hand.
