pc.com chip order ?'s

Ok, so ive decided that i need at LEAST 1,000 chips for my home set from pc.com. Right now, i have 800 dice chips, and they are almost adequate for my tourneys and NL cash games. However, for my limit games i definately need more. I know that it's not really feasible to have enough chips so that everyone (10 player ring) could have at least a full rack of chips, but i really want to be able to have lots of chips on the table. It creates ACTION by having a 3 chip/6chip or a 4chip/8chip structure. So with all that being said, how many of each denom(red, green, black, and purple) do you guys think i need? When you guys run your limit games, how many colors do you use? I personally think that limit games play best with 1 color, maybe 2 if you are playing stud. Any advice for me?

BTW, the chips im thinking of order are the plain roman mold w/o edge spots. I saw the other post about the guy getting them right away as opposed to waiting 3 months, and that is a big selling point for me.

i dont think u should play with just one color chip. u dont need a rack of chips for everyone, it wont induce more action. you should have each chip worth something not each chip n worth one. and if someone buys in for 50 bucks they will get 50 bucks worth of chips

If you are planning on getting at LEAST 1k chips you might think on getting a group buy of TR King going.

One color for limit games, possibly two if you're anteing in stud or whatever (roll of quarters?). I love that shiz... big pots DO make big action. You could always have a rack of higher denom chips in the tray so that if you do manage to run out of chips (action!) you can just color someone up with a stack of $5 in exchange for a rack of $1.

Two or three colors for NL, like my game where we have 0.25, 1 and 5. I wouldn't even need the 5's if I had a 1k chipset, I'd just use quarters and dollars. If you're playing 1/2 you could definitely just use dollars and fives with 1k chips. I'd want 200 $5 in this situation. If you somehow manage to run out of chips here you can make "$20 bills play, only $20's" so that everyone can estimate peoples rolls.

edit: at $350/1000 you can always just get that 800/200 now and then get another one later.... 2k chips would make for some very casino-like stacks. I've never been to a home game with that many chips, it would be GREAT!

Im not sure if they stock plain roman mold chips, the chips I got (at least I think I am the one you are talking about heh) are circle/square mold.

Still awesome chips, and I think I am going to order more...I love the bright color chips with no edge spots. Time to order like 200 Orange and 200 Pink [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I ordered 600 white with blue, 300 red with yellow(maybe orange, don't remember the specific name now) and 100 green with pink without labels and with the roman mold and that has been perfect for cash games. When we play no limit it's easier to have 5's and 25's in there since there will be raises in the 50+ range and 50 chips is a little annoying to put in, but for fixed limit the whites are perfect. When I play stud I just use a roll of quarters for antes. Be aware that it take a long time to get them from pokerchips.com. Mine took about 3 - 4 months. If your interested in getting them faster I've been thinking about selling mine and getting some with custom labels. PM me if you're interested.
