stars 6+.5 turbo - weak fold?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (4 handed) converter
BB (t4025) UTG (t2355) Hero (t4290) SB (t2830) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to t1200, 1 fold, BB calls t800. Flop: (t2075) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets t2800 (All-In), Hero folds. Final Pot: t4875 I've been doing just fine stealing and I feel I've been controlling the table. Opponent hasn't called much and something tells me he has a stronger kicker. Am I being an idiot listening to "instincts" or making a good fold? Part of my reasoning was that I could later outplay everyone at the table, which proved correct as I cruised to an easy win after this fold. I hate being results oriented though so give a newbie hell for giving up the winner. |

Re: stars 6+.5 turbo - weak fold?
I'm pretty new to this too, but I dont really mind the fold. You wouldnt have wanted a caller in the first place, so even though you flopped top pair, I wouldnt want to make the call.
If you were the other guy, passively waiting for a hand to stand up to you with, would you have (a) called a raise with Kx (x<6), or (b) pushed with a hand worse than yours? I know I wouldnt have done either... |
