Just deposited some money in UB yesterday - partially b/c of the reload bonus they had going. To get the bonus, I have to play the cash tables. I typically do fine with this on Party, however, the UB tables have FAR fewer players. Is it hard to log a large amount of hands on $1/2 and .50/$1 limit on UB? How is the competition?
Thanks in advance for any advice you give... |

Personally, I found UB to be too tight at these levels. I made more money on Party Poker without the bonus than I did on UB with the bonus. I still have $80 waiting for me, and I don't see any reason to leave Party to get it.
As an example, you can always sit down to a .50/1.00 table with an average pot of $10 or more at Party, but on UB I found it difficult to find a table over $7. It's my opinion that at these low levels the bonus on UB is near worthless. There's more money to be made elsewhere. ...but that's just me. |

It's harder to clear playing microlevels. If you move up to small stakes, it goes much quicker. Also, they have the whole "start a table" deal that works well if you can play HU or shorthanded OK for a while.
People talk about players at different sites and perhaps there's a bit of truth to it, but I wouldn't put much stock in it. I destroyed the UB tables when I was there, and I suck. I just made the deposit for this bonus as well, so off I go... |

UB's gotten a looooot looser. I play 3/6 and 5/10 there regularly. It's a nice bonus, I took advantage of it last night.

[/ QUOTE ] FWIW, If I am not mistaken, Party counts uncalled bets in average pot size while UB does not. If you notice, the pot they give you at party (Ie. XXX wins $25 pot with...) includes your bet, while at UB this is not true. This is not overy significant at limit play, but can be very significant in PL/NL play. Does anyone know if Party charges rake on that uncalled bet? |

Hmmm, this makes sense, I've always done better at UB than at party, and if I'm using pot size as one of my selection criteria, than I am actually picking games on UB that are one big bet bigger than I am picking at party. Does anyone know if Party charges rake on that uncalled bet? I believe that the do not. |

This is probably due mostly to sucky variance, but I do way better at UB than I do at Party. Heck, last night I lost 17BB at Party on 3 tables and made 20BB at UB on two. The tightness allows you to bluff a LOT more pots. They add up nicely.

Actually, I think that the tightness allows the full blown maniacs to survive longer at UB. Which lets me pick them off a higher percentage of their money, because my antimaniac game is good.
