Default Back to the basics - A n00b question that probably doesn\'t matter much

James282 (who is running horribly at the time) opens 1 before the hijack, the co (trip5s - very solid player) 3 bets, button folds, I have AK in the sb. Muck or play?

Cap with impunity. James should fold a few hands here if you cap.

Ok. Without even thinking I capped (who actually thinks pre-flop? ) but when I reflected about the hand afterwords I wasn't positive and I wanted to get a few more oppinions cause this kind of [censored] has been coming up more and more lately. Glad you guys agree. James did too. James did fold and the co and I took the flop HU.

Cap. Take control and possibly get the original raiser out. The 3-bettor has 3-bet a late position raiser who's running badly and is liable to have a relatively weak 3-bet hand.

1 before the hijack is middle position. It was Utg+3 (so mp2). Not that it really matters...just wanted to clarify.

I'm honestly not sure if capping or calling is better, but folding sucks.
