Default Where is the money in low-limit NL ?

Hello !

I have a question for all multitable sharks around here. Where does money come from in low-limit NL ?
Ive been playing for 2 months, and my thoughts are :

a)pushing TPTK
b)doubling up with set
c)flopping 2 pairs with any random cards and get paid off (this is where I lose most money anyway)

I wonder if playing just for a) and b) would be enough for profit in 25NL or 50NL games. I mean playing only AK,AQ, KQ in late position + any pair and folding anything that doesnt hit the flop.

thoughts ?

You completely missed flushes and straights (especially straights). Also, TPTK is not a great hand to push with. It wins a lot of small pots though, which is good.

Especially with deepstacks (100xBB+) you want to build big hands. A vast majority of my profits comes from sets, straights, flushes and boats. TPTK and even two-pair will often get you busted. Who is going to push all their chips in the middle with hands you can beat except the occassional doink?

lately:
the majority of my big pot wins come off of

1- sets/sets that fill up
2- 2 pair (especially the top 2)

some of the usual winners for me, aside from above also are:

3- straights
4- big pairs all in preflop
5- flushes (to a much lower degree)

or of course being all in on the flop on a semi bluff with a big draw that hits later on.

i have found that i do not win too much with a completed flush. its too obvious a hand. you really need to be against another complete flush to double your stack up with a flush, unless you are against a real weak player

gutshots, what can I say I like to gambool.

sets, bluffs , and straights are what I usually get paid off the most on, its unreal what some people will put their money in with! occasionally a flush, but they're harder to get the big bucks.

Okay, you have the beginner's chapter to Phil's book mostly down cold. Move to the intermediate section. Try Harrington's book. Carson's "Complete Book of Hold 'em". Then move to "Small Stakes Hold 'em Winning Big With Expert Play" (yes, it's about limit, but it does have good stuff).

Please don't try to apply SSH to NL. It will really hurt your game if you start raising with flopped second pairs and reraising ATs preflop, or calling down just because the pot is big. Limit and no-limit are entirely different, and play like two separate games. It's just the way the cards come out that looks the same.

Unclear in my first post. Stop applying about the end of Part 1.

That better? It's the easiest to follow explaination of the basic math I've found.

Tell me I'm wrong and I'll change my mind. I'm easy.

1 word: trapping

PF AI's to me are foolish in NL cash games especially online, with people willing to call AI's with weak junk like KJo.

I prefer to see the flop and then KNOW where I likely stand using math.
It's then I can get A8o non-thinkers to call all their chips off with 852r flops or similar...

Find out where "theredpill" plays and take as many shots at him as you can.
