Next time raise more under the gun. Having aces is nice, but a lot times its about timing. The guy who went all in, prob has a set or hit two-pair. There is the off
chance he is open ended or perhaps just has top pair and is a maniac. Either way, next time raise more protect those aces. Its better win a big pot that lose a small one. Another important note is dont ever be afraid of folding aces. To many people value them too highly post-flop, although there a great starting hand, after the flop never hesistate to dump them if you think your behind. Dont make the mistake of falling in love with them. |

we are not in a tourney that the avg stack has 200x the BB for about 70 hands, we are in a tourney when we will have 5x the BB in 20 hands if we fold aces that easily post-flop.

ok arod, im cutting you a break since you are new...
[ QUOTE ] Next time raise more under the gun. [/ QUOTE ] no. you have an 80% edge that needs to get paid, you want to get callers, you just dont want to give them the odds to do so. [ QUOTE ] Having aces is nice, but a lot times its about timing. [/ QUOTE ] time is something that you dont have much of. think about how many hands are played in an avg sng...80 maybe? there are not going to be many better oppertunities then this. [ QUOTE ] There is the off chance he is open ended or perhaps just has top pair and is a maniac [/ QUOTE ] at the 22's there is a very good chance that this person has 10s, aj, a draw, or many other hands which you are ahead...so much so that this is definately a +EV call. the early stages of a sng is all about getting your big hands paid off. op is holding a big hand that i reckon is ahead 3/4 of the time. take this one to the bank. |
