Results:

Hero: balance 3266, bet 750, collected 1900, net +1150 [ Qh 3h 3c Qc 9c Ts Ad ] [ two pairs, queens and threes -- Ad,Qh,Qc,3h,3c ]
Seat 8: balance 7244, lost 750 [ 4s 6d Ks Ah Ac Qd 7s ] [ a pair of aces -- Ah,Ac,Ks,Qd,7s ]

My 5th street thoughts: Villain didn't complete on 3rd, and another K was out, so I doubted he had pocket k's. But, I had not noticed him leading out on 4th in situations where he didn't have at least a pair, so when he bet 4th, I put him on a medium or small pair, with two overcards to my Q. If he's got K's or A's on 4th, I expected him to re-raise me; since he didn't, that solidified my read that he's got a smaller pocket pair. So, on 5th street, when he hits the open A's, I was amazed that he didn't bet what I was sure was two pair, and honestly didn't notice that my 5th street card had given me a 3 club board. I was sure that my two pair were behind at that point, but I had a scary board, had bet 4th in a way that could be representing the flush draw and the clubs were very live. Does anybody think I should have bet 5th after the A's checked?

Since the third player folded on fourth street, I think I might just call myself. You can wait until an expensive street to raise, and you can get away from your dead hand if things turn ugly.

Having played it the way you did, I think checking behind on fifth is probably prudent, especially in a tournament situation. Once he checks sixth, though, I become reasonably convinced that Queens-up is winning, and I bet for value. Whether or not I bet the river is opponent-dependent, but against an unknown I think I check behind.

Andy,

Why would you be inclined to check behind an unknown on the river after value betting on 6th?

This is a tournament. I tend to pass on marginal value bets. I would hate getting check-raised. I don't know that he can be counted on to call with dry Aces, but I can be quite sure that he won't fold Aces-up or better, so there's not a lot of value there, in my estimation. He'll call on sixth with those same dry Aces because he can improve.

I agree with betting on sixth, and whether I should have bet 6th was my next question.
