Re: Big Blind Hand - 85o
I put SB on 9X, with X likely A, J, T, or 8. I suppose 66 is also possible. There's no way he puts you on a straight. Right now he probably thinks you've got a 6 or middle pp.
If you call, he'll probably put you on a 9 with good kicker or a boat, or, if he thinks you're loose, 8X. If you reraise his c/r, he'll lean more towards A9, 97, 96. A real reraise (to 500 or more) will probably only get action from A9 and better. That may not be a bad thing, though. If he's not ahead yet, he's got 10 outs to the boat, and you won't know if he paired his other pocket card. Plus a 5, 8, or T will kill your action against trips. I raise to 450, fold to a push. |

Raise to $500, and call a push (most likely A-9 or K-9). If called, get it all in on the river.

Re: Big Blind Hand - 85o
Thanks for the comments... unfortunately in a rash moment I pushed (I put him on 9x and thought there's no way he knows I have the straight). He obviously called with 66.
I have been losing a fair bit lately to suck-outs (had just lost an allin on the flop when I was 99.4% favourite) - its times like these I play too much catch-up poker and I think sometimes I forget there is an option of calling. However, calling his checkraise doesn't really give me much idea what he's got if he bets allin on river. I've always been a raise or fold person. I guess I could have raised with a little more subtlety. anyway, you live and learn. |
