Default AA hand eval....

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.5.

Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, MP1 calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

Turn: (11.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, MP1 raises, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

River: (17.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

Final Pot: 20.25 BB

Slowed down on the turn because he seemed to be representing trip Q, so river was check/call mode.

Folding the turn after MP1's raise is the right play, methinks, but I can't blame you for calling down. The only other hands you could hope he has are 66 or 33 - then you have 4 outs to the winning hand. But he raised preflop, so he has AQ or KQ almost always here.

You also have UTG+1 still in the hand. I wouldn't be surprised if both had you beat. MP1 with trip Qs and UTG+1 with a low set or a 2-pair.

I think it is close between folding the turn and your line. I would probably have folded.

No of course not. Sometimes I type faster than I think

I still think that Hero is beaten here.

I would call down, because the pot is Big. You win with pocket aces often enough that calling down can't be that bad.

I played it the same as you did, but I'd like to be able to find a fold here at the table. As it stands I slow down exactly where you did and call the turn and river.

Good hand. I would say if he calls two cold on the flop, he has at least top pair at that point.

reads?

i think folding AA to the turn raise is weak against an unknown. i'd call down and expect to lose, but win enough to justify the call over time.

**Replying without reading additional posts**

I think this hand would benefit with reads.
What type of player is MP1? He raised PF, what types of hands is he likely to do that with?

Without reads I probably would have played this exactly the same, he's likely got trips, but he could also have a weaker pocket pair or match the board so I would still call him down.
