Default Fourth pair betting the whole way.

PP 5/10 5 max.

I have A4o on the button and open with a raise. SB is reasonably tight and 3-bets. Postflop he is typically an aggressive player, who often plays hands fast. BB folds.

Flop is 9 7 4

He bets, I raise, he calls.

Turn is a 3. He check-calls my bet.

River is a 6. So final board 974 3 6. He checks, I bet and he calls.

Not a too special hand, but maybe it is worth to discuss betting the river, or thin value betting in general, because it's a very important part of shorthanded poker. Comments?

Regards

I would bet the river there 100% of the time, both in a shorthanded and a full ring game when opening on the button like that. Well played.
