Default Do you guys call this down?

Is this an okay spot to call down or do you guys ditch in these types of situations? I pick off alot of bluffs here but is the typical opponent bluffing enough to make this play profitable. No reads on opponent.

When you are raised on the turn, you are going to have to call 2 more BB to win a pot that is currently 7.75BB. You have midpair with 3 to a straight, 3 to a flush and an A on the board (we all know how much fish love A's). A read on the player would be nice, but you are against an opponent who called 2 cold PF. I really don't see it being profitable.

This turn is a easy check-fold for me; So no, I do not call it down.

Well if you are going to do that, you might as well open-fold the turn.

Huh, why does he have to be bluffing here to call down? All it really takes is some simple analysis...

The pot is 6.75 BB after his turn raise so you are getting 7.75:2 on the calldown (3.9:1). Now we need to put him on some hands:

Kx - 9x Flush (30 combos) : 0 outs
7x Flush or less (6 combos) : 7 outs
Straight (15) : ~ 8.3 outs
Ax (no heart) (111) : 11 outs
Ax (bigger heart) (15) : 2 outs
Ax (lower heart) (12) : 10 outs
Naked K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (34) : ~ 32.5 outs

Total (223 combos) : ~2642 combo-outs = 11.8 outs = 27% equity

You are getting 3.9:1 on the calldown so you only need ~20% equity to call down here. You played it perfectly.

Yes, and I like your line.

However, I'd actually consider check-raising this turn but that's just me. I dunno if it'd be right or wrong but it's the play I'd make here.

Anyone like a check-raise turn? Or is it bad?

There are 34 ways he can have the naked K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. That means that there are 34 ways he can have the naked Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and 34 ways he can have the naked J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]....and so it goes. Do you really want to him a free draw at a flush if that is what he holds??

Even if he has a hand like JT [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] you are giving him a free shot at 4 outs by checking and there are hundreds of hands like this that he could potentially have.

Brad

EDIT: Just to clarify both in this post and the other post that when I say that there are 34 ways that the villian can have the naked K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] that doesn't count any of the 3 possible AK hands but it does count hands like K2 and K3.

True true. Didn't really give it much consideration that he'd check through, it seems so rare Nice post Shill.
