Default Fresh off Entity\'s post...

Shortly after reading Entity's post and thinking about calling in large pots....

This table is a dream. After playing at Absolute with the weak-tight crowd for ~2000 hands, coming back to Party is a nice change. Loose passives everywhere.

No read on CO, just sat down. BB is a calling station if there ever was one.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.5.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO (poster) checks, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG+1 3-bets, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero caps, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, CO calls.

Standard. Everyone here cold calls and cold calls, plus UTG+1 is short stacked so I figured he could be blowing through chips for no reason.

Flop: (20.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, CO checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 raises, MP1 folds, CO calls, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, CO calls.

Again, standard I think. I'll take this flop. Again, I don't put much stock in UTG+1's raise so I figure I'll reraise. If I'm currently behind I like my outs with all the money being poured in by what are likely drawing dead hands.

Turn: (15.75 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB bets, CO calls, Hero calls.

For some reason, when BB bet out I felt like I was behind, either to a made flush or a set. I hadn't seen any bets or raises from BB in 80 hands. So I call.

River: (18.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

BB bets, CO raises, Hero calls, BB calls.

Final Pot: 18.75 BB

With Entity's post fresh in my head, I cold called this, something I would normally not do. BB only had 0.25 left at this point, so I wasn't worried about BB reraising and having it capped behind me.

Does anyone else fold this here, or is there justification for calling given the decent pot?

I am folding here no questions. There has been a ton of action, there is a 3-flush and 3 to a straight on the board. CO just woke up on the river. You are getting ~8:1 on your call. Not a chance you are good often enough.

Where did UTG+1 go?

He was all-in when he called my flop re-raise. The converter was being a little screwy - sorry.

I'm not saying that you wouldn't be good more than 1/8 times to justify the call, but what odds would you want in a situation like this to call?

21.75:2 on your call, actually. I still don't think you're good often enough when CO wakes up.

It appears there was a converter screw up, but from this, Hero is calling 2BB cold with 15.75BB in the pot.

What? How? The pot is 18.75BB on the river, and there's three more bets in front of him.

At the time, I thought I was getting better than 10:1, which seems correct because I recall the final pot was like $23-25 (23-25BB).

Errr this is what I meant to post

This does show a converter error, but even so, Hero is getting 21.75:2 or ~11:1 which, IMO, isn't near good enough. Plus there is the possibility of it being raised behind him.

No, because BB was all in to call CO's raise - sorry about my conversion errors, but like I said in my original post one of the factors I used in calling was knowing I would be closing the action.
