Poker Prayer
A little prayer to get ready for today's session
Our dealer, who art in the box, Hologrammed by thy nametag Thy cards be dealt thy pots be pushed Online as it is in riverboat Give us this day our daily Aces And forgive us our suckouts As we forgive those who suckout against us And lead us not into betting into the nuts But deliver us from downswings For thine is the straight, the flush, and the full house, For ever and ever Amen |

Re: Poker Prayer
I wrote this about 4 or five months back. I know the feeling.
Forgive me Phil Ivey, For I have sinned. It has been three months since my last confession, and I need your strength for I have been weaktight. I acted as a calling station, and was seen as a nut peddler in an unfamiliar game. When my raises recieved too much respect, I did not loosen up and utilize this advantage. Instead, I found myself not properly raising premium hands preflop, and in such, allowing many limpers into flops. I have allowed my opponents to steal from me pots that were not theirs. I watched the cards on the board, and not the players I played against. I tried to play tight, but worse, I played scared. The worst sin I committed was in my realization of this, I did not leave. I was vain, I was greedy, I was gluttunous(especially concerning my over use of a mighty fine shrimp platter) and in so, I committed all of the sinful weaknesses that ruin my game. In the name of Phil Ivey, Gus Hanson, and Doyle's spirit; Amen. |
