Re: 3-bet this turn with my set?
do you think they have 96 or 109. I'm leaning to calling the raise and hope the board pairs as he has a made hand from the looks of it

Re: 3-bet this turn with my set?
Yup. Even if he's ahead with a straight, you've got a shite load of redraws. Now, if he has a higher set, your in it deep (which is unlikely). 3 bet, check call if capped and the river doesn't pair the board.

Re: 3-bet this turn with my set?
This is a tough one...
What is your read on villian here? Here is the situation: If he has 9T, then 3 betting is a slight mistake (you are getting 3 way action on your 3.6-1 shot, assuming all of your boat outs are clean, and everyone comes along... these may, ironically, be contradictory statements) If he has JJ/88 you are making a HUGE mistake by reraising If your hand is good (he has J8 for example) you are making a HUGE mistake by not reraising I am leaning towards calling. But an aggressive villian (who might do this with two pairs) might push my mouse to the right. |

Re: 3-bet this turn with my set?
Here's how this one turned out:
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Turn: (17.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 raises, MP3 folds, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG+2 calls. River: (25.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 raises, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, SB folds. Final Pot: 36.50 BB Results in white below: Hero has 7s 7h (full house, sevens full of fives). UTG+2 has Kd Jd (two pair, jacks and fives). MP1 has 6c Jc (flush, jack high). Outcome: Hero wins 36.50 BB. In retrospect, it was easy to think 3-bet, but that should have been my line during this hand. I feared 88 or JJ at the time, but I think my opponents have other hands a majority of the time here and I'm safe to 3-bet. As you can see, this was a real juicy table.
