So close, so close.
Played in yesterdays Pokerstars 10+1 10 minute level MTT and came in fourth. Today I played the pokerstars 10+one re-buy+one add-on. Came in fourth again. It hurts.
Down to 11 players I'm doing well in chips and this hand comes up. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30000 (5 handed) converter MP (t293569) Button (t458095) SB (t257536) Hero (t429579) UTG (t83692) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, SB raises to t256036, Hero calls t226036. Flop: (t488072) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Turn: (t488072) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) River: (t488072) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: t488072 Results in white below: SB has 9s Js (flush, king high). Hero has Ac As (three of a kind, aces). Outcome: SB wins t488072. Then we are down to four and this hand comes up. They guy who beat me was the one who cracked my aces, I thought I had won, but I guess I was wrong. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t40000 (4 handed) converter Hero (t554580) UTG (t279432) Button (t450440) SB (t2005548) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Button raises to t80000, SB raises to t280000, Hero raises to t552580, Button calls t368440 (All-In), SB calls t272580. Re: So close, so close.
Tough luck on the first one, but the hand you busted on...you have nobody to blame but yourself.
AJo is NOT a re-re-raising hand by a long shot. Keep your chin up, stay aggreesive. Sounds like you're doing a lot of things right so hang in there. pep. |

Re: So close, so close.
Thanks for the comment. I got caught up in the moment. SB had really started to shift gears in the last two orbits and was stealing alot. Got to see his hand on two of them and they were fairly weak hands.
I thougt I would be able to take it uncontested, but I was wrong. My emotions got the best and I paid the price. |

That change your opinion? [/ QUOTE ] It's always so hard to judge situations like this because you don't have all the information. In this hand I took intial raiser as trying to pick up some blinds, looking back it should have raised some alarms. When SB raised, which he had been doing too much and with medicore hands, I thought he was trying to steal again and I figured intial raiser will fold, SB may fold and if not, with his previous showing of hands I would have a good chance if he calls. That being said, I was still in good position with chips. If I folded maybe it would have been down to three. I don't think my all-in, with the information I had, was a extremely horrible play, but if I could play it again I would have folded. |

OK, but it wasn't a re-raising hand, it was a RE-re-raising hand. That change your opinion? [/ QUOTE ] I don't mean that AJo should automatically raise all-in from the BB facing a raise and reraise in a four-handed situation. I just meant that it may well be the correct play, depending on the usual factors and in particular the aggression level of these opponents. If the other two players have been raising a lot, then there is a good chance that here, the AJo is not dominated. |
