$4-$8 Live hand Played Right?
BB is tight passive, no read on Button.
Thoughts below (results in white) $4-$8 Live Game (Edgewater Casino, Vancouver BC) Preflop: Hero is CO with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks. Flop: (6 SB) J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players) BB bets, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, Hero calls, Button raises, BB calls, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, BB calls. Turn: (9 BB) K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets, Hero calls, Button raises, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, Button calls. River: (18 BB) K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets, Hero raises, Button calls, BB calls. Final Pot: 24 BB BB has Ah Qh - Ace high straight Hero has 8d 8c - Full house (Eights full of Kings) Button has 9h 7h I didn't raise the flop (Borderline mistake) originally because I was slightly concerned about the hearts and the connectivity of the flop, I still thought my hand was good but realized alot of cards hurt me on the turn (More of a reason too raise even if I know players won't fold the draws Im afraid of?) I was prepared to wait to the turn to make my decision (A mistake I realize). However, when the button raised I felt I had enough equity [Even if behind I'm slightly less than 2-1 to fill up or better with 2 others in if Im behind - I can't put either player on JJ or TT based on the pre-flop action] that I needed to re-raise for value (Too late yes, but still I think calling his raise would have been a mistake) Turn call seemed standard, although with bottom set I was worried if 2 pair out there I am drawing slim if the other has the straight. Still I can't lay this down can I? River I took quite a while to raise, but based on the play I can't put anyone on a better hand (BB was tight enough he lays down KJ or K10 to the cap). Outside of the original flop call, I don't think I should have played this differently but some comments from the table after the hand had me doubting myself. Thoughts? Re: $4-$8 Live hand Played Right?
Thanks for your thoughts.
I agree I should have just raised originally. I wasn't fully slowplaying as I was thought by waiting to see the turn I could get myself out of trouble if a scare card hit, but in reality Im not going anywhere even if a scare card hits so obviously it was pointless waiting. I can play like a weak-tight sometimes I do raise the turn normally as that card doesn't bother me but read on BB said he doesn't bet out without the straight and he hadn't checkraise in the 2.5 hours I played with him so he was the type to bet out the straight there. Agreed, I think I realized the mistake it was not to raise orginally and then tried to right my ways.
