Default Rookie misplays the flush draw; gets lucky. Advice?

Brand new at NL. Sure I misplayed this hand at the flop, turn, and river. Had no reads on my opponent; it was my first hand at the table. Shoulda raised the flop and/or the turn, yes? And the river bet was pathetic. How low do you go to get paid?

i dunno if its just me, but look at the potsize. on the flop its $1.25, and the guy raises 2 bucks. drawing in a pot like this two-handed is worthless. the turn call is pretty bad too. your calling two potsized raises flop and turn with just a draw. The only time im drawing like this is when theres a nice sized pot multihanded, and the raise is reasonable compared to the size of the pot.

P.S. somethings wrong with your formatting, did you push on the river or what?

Preflop - fine
Flop - fold to the overbet. Your implied odds suck with the obvious flush draw. Your only other option is to raise the flop, but I would wait a few hands to get some reads before getting aggressive. If your opponent is known to be weak, raising the flop is the right move.

I think you should raise preflop becuase in my Party .1/.25 NL experience something like 40% of players limp with any 2 cards preflop. You know your not getting the odds to call the flop or the turn so you need to fold in these situations. Also, you need to value bet the river (something like 1/4-1/2 of the pot) if you want any chance of being called. Your play screamed of flush draw, and your opponent caught on.
