Default [Live Games]How often do you use custom card protecters?

Hello, long time reader, first time poster.

A little background: I'm in the jewelery industry and I recently had a fellow client come in and ask me to make him a custom poker chip out've believe it of all things, gold. What I'm interested in finding out is if you've ever seen or even use anything valuable to protect your cards like that. Myself I use a Burger King toy from when I was a kid which is over 10 years old. I really do appreciate any and all feedback you may have for me.

Also, please note that I do not wish to push anything on anyone here and am just looking for possible ideas or thoughts on using custom card protecters such as the one I made for a client.

I never use one, a chip is good enough for me.

however many people use them, but they are usually something personal and special to them. I don't think there would be much business in selling high end "cappers," if that's what you were asking about. But what do I know, I was thinking about buying a phil hellmuth one just for fun

I know in the big game lyle berman uses a once ounce gold bar. How pimp is that, I have also heard that when some one misses there blind instead of putting a missed blind button he throws these small gold nuggets at the seat where the players missed blind is.

An ounce of gold would be so small that it would be impossible to put it in "bar" form....So Im guessing its prolly not real gold.
