Forum is becoming a joke.
Basically the forum is degenerating into an ongoing conversation on how much someone can harvest by nut peddling 4 tables at a time.
The most popular topics are about how to play TPTK cautiously, an overpair cautiously, and whether you should fold bottom pair if you encounter resistance from a preflop raiser. GET OUT OF THE KIDDIE POOL AND MAKE SOME MOVES. Anyone agree?? Disagree? |

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
Well, this thread was a positive example of something that isn't cautious play of an overpair OR TPTK!
Happy? -dB |

disagree
at low limits your oponents are not good enough to make making moves profitable they call too much, therefore, you nutpeddle |

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
I don't agree that the forum is becoming a joke, but I'm also much more interested in actually playing poker than nut-peddling. My goals are to HAVE FUN, move up levels gradually and use the money I make to do fun stuff and play larger buy-in B&M tournaments, and to do that I personally need to mix it up. If I was grinding out a living at this I'm sure I would feel differently, but that's what makes the world go around.

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
Making moves is only worthwhile playing against good players. If you take a look at the Mid-high stakes NLHE boards, the strategy there is definitely a lot different. Once in a while, you run into a good player in small-stakes, and it's worthwhile to make a few moves. Otherwise, I bet top set every time.

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
I feel that these forums deal largely with pretty basic play questions. Most of them can be answered with the following guidelines.
1) Don't fold 2nd or 3rd set on a safe board. 2) Don't slowplay sets on draw heavy boards. 3) Feel free to drop overpairs against resistance. 4) Don't fold KK pre-flop. More interesting situations rarely come up in low stakes games, but these guidelines probably answer about 80% of posts here. |

I would also add feel free to fold TPTK against resistance.

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
I am new to this forum, and at first I had felt afraid to post questions on here, and post hands and such. But then I realized you guys are here for that, to answer questions players that are not as good as you all have. So yea, you are gonna get a lot of questions that you feel you have answered, but like you guys always say, there are no generalizations in poker, and every situation is different, while they may seem similar. We come here asking for advice, and even if its been said many times, we still come to ask it. You guys come here to learn and teach, and while it may seem like a joke to certain people, to a lot its useful information.

Re: Forum is becoming a joke.
Quite honestly what is wrong with nut peddling on low limits online. To control your variance in low limits online this is almost required because of the bad players few reads and people willing to call because money at those low limits isnt important.
