I am not.
I hit a set of 6s and was beat by a set of Queens. I have a pair of queens and get re-raised all-in preflop. Naturally, he has aces. I figured he had aces. I just couldn't lay it down. Would you? And: How often do you think you are up against a higher set? That all-in could easily have been pocket aces or kings. The all-in preflop was one of 3 hands: Aces, Kings or A/K. Though the very aggressive at the low levels (which I play) would push with worse hands. I've seen Q/10 and A/J push all-in in the last few days. |

Kaz:
Is that based stronly on a read of your opponent, your dislike of the ladies, simple respect of a re-raise? Thanks |

Pertinent stack and bet sizes would be helpful.
BC If I have 75 bucks on a 25-50 cent game 4 limpers to me I jack it to 4 bucks and some donkey moves in with 10-15 Its gonna be hard for me to lay QQ down. OTOH If I have 100 and an opponent has 100 he makes a decent raise in MP I reraise to say 7 in LP then he moves it in for 93 more its almost always a fold. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is pretty much what happened. Closer to the truth: He raised to about 2.50 preflop. I bumped it up to 6 and he went over the top. I had had a hugely profitable table and had doubled my $50 up to $100, so it was about $40 more for me to call. |

Thanks [/ QUOTE ] i never fold black queens because i like to show racial harmony same thing about red queens, they need something other then reservations the interracial ones i muck, im not big into that. ~~~ 100bb stacks i fold to PFAI with QQ. I do not fold KK though. As a matter of fact, yesterday in my session I folded QQ when someone raised, guy called in LP, I bumped it up from SB, and original raiser pushed (fairly big overbet) I let it go. *most opponents I dont think it's a tough fold, also. and some you'd be crazy to let them go. but an unknown it's a fold. |

Folding a set in a small stakes game is almost criminal, given the way that people overplay TPTK, overpairs, etc.
Folding QQ pre-flop is situation dependent, but given that you're generally at best a 55% favorite, or an 80% dog, it's easy to drop. |
