Default Table Selection

What stats are important to NL in table selection, is it still VPIP?

Thanks

I think so. As a TAG player, I look for loose games. I also look for fishies on my buddy list.

Thanks, any stats that would help define a fish besides a high VPIP, with deep stacks, it would seem limping alot wouldn't be that bad...

Barring any hand history with a specific player, I just go by VPIP for the table. As for fish, I look for loose passive passive players (using Bisons autorate rules) - VPIP > 40, PFR <7, and total aggression < 1.2

I also like the calling stations and sitting to the left of LAGs.

You've got 9 or 10 tables to chose from, all with 1 seat open.
Here are the stats available:
Avg. pot size
Hand per hour
Pct. of players to see flop
Stack size for each player

Rank those factors. I think when I get pokertracker up and running, my thoughts may change, but for now, I can see these stats for every table.

Thanks.

I'd say:

2. Avg. pot size
4. Hand per hour
1. Pct. of players to see flop
3. Stack size for each player

anyone else?

I would rank them this way.

3. Avg. pot size
4. Hand per hour
1. Pct. of players to see flop
2. Stack size for each player

I used to worry about avg. pot size, but I think that looking at the stavck sizes is a good general indicator of the quality of players. For example, if I am sitting down at a $25 max table, I don't want more than one or two players that are above the $25 mark. Those that are up significantly (more than 60% of the buy in) are almost always solid players. You run into the occasional fish that caught a lucky flop or something, but they are a lot easier to spot after a few hands.

I look for the highest Avg. Pot size and highest % seeing the flop.

There are only 6 tables at the level I play, and I 4-table, so I just hop on the waiting list and take the first 4 that free up.

Only stat i look at is % of players seeing the flop. The difference between a 33% and a 47% table is huge. Only when i'm clearing bonuses will i look at hands/hr.
