Default Bet the turn?

Here's a proublem I faced Twice last night.15/30 H.E.2-up front limpers SOO I also limp on the button with A/6SUUITED! {ok I play sh..poop}I get a great flop! 2/6/Q with 2clubs...DA two blinds check,as do the two limpers.SOOo I bet Oh ya my A/6 was hearts I get one caller[BB] The turn is a Jack,But the Jc giving me a pair of sixes and a club draw. The BB checks,SOooo I took the free card.My thinking was with the J/Q too many reasons for a player take one off if I bet.Later a very similer situation came up the 2nd.time I bet the turn.Oh Ya I won both hands But I would like some input&thoughts on this.THANKS!

I would bet the turn virtually every time. Although BB could have a queen, i think most people would have bet or check-raised with it on the flop. He could have a 6 or even a gutshot. If he is going to take on off on the turn, good for him. Besides, I am probably paying off a river bet if I check the turn (is this too loose, you think?), and this way, if I don't improve, I can just check the river with my sixes.

If you think folding A6s on the button after two limpers is a serious option, then you are making lots of pre-flop mistakes. Many players would raise here.

On the turn, I think you would have probably taken the pot with a turn bet unless somebody else was on flush draw.

Yeah, but he's definitely going to take one off if you don't bet. Give him a chance to fold. If he doesn't, or even if he check-raises, you still have some nice cards that could hit on the river, and you might even still be ahead anyway.

This is an automatic bet on the turn. Th math of it supersedes anything else.
