Stealing with Ducks on a loose table
Table is loose aggressive preflop.
SB is a complete bozo. He raises preflop a lot and will cold call anything. He's not overaggro postflop but he will call down with all kinds of second best hands. I don't know much about BB or Button, but I assume they are loose. I think maybe I should open-limp or fold this with such a sludgy table. Re: Stealing with Ducks on a loose table
In the CO i'll open-fold this usually - the loose player's instinct to call down almost always is close to correct vs 22, so i prefer to have the button and reduce the likely # of players.
As it is, I like waiting for the turn to go to war, but would be inclined to take a free showdown on the river if I don't boat up, because it's possible to have bet a straight/baby flush into submission, especially because you noted he's not an extreme lag postflop. Surf |

Re: Stealing with Ducks on a loose table
I am capable of letting small pairs go postflop when I steal. I'll take the free card on the turn sometimes, or bet the turn and take a free showdown.
Sometimes I will showdown with them UI if I have noticed the opponent bluffing before. It's a crapshoot with the success (I'll have to go over this), but I think the pot size buffers my losses. Also, I think it helps that they will call with nearly any two, and chase postflop with overs or unders. I disagree with the river, I think it's standard. If he has a flush, oh well. |

Re: Stealing with Ducks on a loose table
I usually raise PF but would fold here against the players your describe. Postflop I think a fastplay (flop 3-bet) is much better as the bozo will give you no credit and often you will still be able to cap the turn when he has an overpair or even AK. Also scare cards can't mess with your plans.

But now that I think about it, he's probably got some overpair, and he won't slow down till after the turn. |
